About the Kigali Memorial Center
- It was set up to commemorate the Rwandan Genocide
- The remains of over 250,000 are interred there.
- The Center is a permanent memorial to those who fell victim to the genocide
- It also serves as a place in which the bereaved could bury their family and friends.
- The Center is administered by the Aegis Trust and the Kigali City Council.
- This memorial centre is one of six major centres in Rwanda that commemorate the Genocide.
- The five others are the Murambi Memorial Centre, Bisesero Genocide Memorial Centre and Ntarama Genocide Memorial Centre and others at Nyamata and Nyarubuye.
